Harnessing My Zodiac Color

What's your Zodiac color palette? Lucky for us, there’s no special formula for activating the energy of the colors written in the stars for our signs. Whether you decide to go the fashion or decor route, you can’t go wrong. “Wearing your power color through clothes, accessories, makeup, and nail polish is a classic choice to channel your sign’s innate energy, but there are many other options, especially for those days when you just can’t get away with wearing bright blue eyeshadow,” says Charlotte Kirsten, a psychotherapist and master astrologer.

Kirsten also suggests surrounding yourself with your power color in your home with objects like wall art, flowers, cushions, curtains, or books to help welcome and absorb your sign’s positive energy. Colors like blue (Aquarius), green (Taurus), and pink (Cancer) can have a calming effect; whereas fire signs Aries, Leo, and Sagittarius might benefit from shades of red that exude confidence. So whatever your Zodiac color palette may be, make sure to surround yourself with it to reap its benefits.

Zerner, an astrologer and author of Astrology for Wellness and Mindful Astrology, recommended further channeling your power color through meditation. “Clear your mind, take a few deep breaths, and stare at an object in the color,” she described. “Breathe in the color until you can feel it deep inside of you. Repeat this ritual whenever you feel as if you need to bring healing, happiness, prosperity, or any other good thing into your life.” Sound intriguing? Kirsten breaks down each sign’s inner color below:

  • Element: Fire
  • Energy: Masculine
  • Quality: Cardinal
  • Ruling Planet: Mars
  • Colors: Red, orange, yellow, white

Red is the color for Aries, and it definitely reflects their bold and brazen nature! Ruled by the planet Mars (also known as the Red Planet), Aries are headstrong and aren't afraid to take initiative and make risky decisions in pursuit of true freedom. This sign loves nothing more than being in charge of their own destiny! So if you're looking for someone who is fearless and full of life, look no further than an Aries. You won't be disappointed!

There are several colors associated with Aries in addition to red. With fire as the theme, orange, yellow, and white are the colors most often associated with Aries.

Any shade that is warm and bright is usually associated with fire. Aries’ orange should be bright and almost neon, so that it captures the energy and excitement of that sign. The orange color symbolizes change, growth, energy, and a love of life.

  • Element: Earth
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Fixed
  • Planet: Venus
  • Colors: Pink, pastel shades blue and purple

The stable and reliable color of Taurus is green. Green symbolizes growth, abundance, and fertility. When meditating with green, imagine yourself surrounded by nature and surrounded by all the good things that life has to offer. When meditating with red, envision yourself tapping into your inner strength and power.

Any other traditionally “feminine” color can also work with the Taurus sign. The most popular Taurus color is pink, but to add a sense of harmony and coordination, also consider pastel shades of blues and purples.

Warm, soft tones have traditionally been associated with feminine energies, but that doesn’t mean that they’re out of reach for males! You can add soft colors to your outfit and surroundings to turn them from harsh to inviting and engaging.

  • Element: Air
  • Energy: Masculine
  • Quality: Mutable
  • Planet: Mercury
  • Colors: Yellow, bright green and blue

The color yellow represents Gemini, and it's no surprise that this cheerful hue inspires happiness and creates a warm and inviting feeling. After all, yellow is the color of sunlight, and Gemini is all about learning and intellectual pursuits. When you see yellow, it's impossible not to feel happy and uplifted. It's the perfect color for Gemini twins, who are known for their curiosity and childlike wonder.

Yellow helps them to learn new things, channel their intellect, and keep their spirits high even on the darkest of days. So if you're looking for a Zodiac color that reflects your Gemini twin personality, look no further than yellow. Trust us, you'll be happy you did. When meditating with yellow, picture yourself surrounded by sunshine and happiness.

Green is the second most common color for Geminis. Rather than choosing deep or dark greens, try capturing some of that same Gemini warmth, brightness, and sunshine-y cheer in your seafoam green choices instead. As a symbol of change, growth, and development, seafoam green is a great choice for Geminis, as it often goes hand in hand with the same ideas that set Geminis apart from the other signs on the zodiac wheel.

  • Element: Water
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Cardinal
  • Planet: The Moon
  • Colors: Silver, white, pale blue, gray, cream

Ruled by the silver-hued Moon, the comfort-seeking crab is deeply in tune with its motherly, caring instincts. Silver not only reflects Cancers’ calmness, serenity, and higher spiritual self, but it also helps them connect with their intuition and effortlessly pick up on the energies in a room. Tied to many mythological stories and tales, the color silver also acts as a guard, helping Cancers ward off evil spirits and malice. In ancient times, people believed that wearing silver jewelry or carrying a piece of silver would protect them from witches and black magic.

Today, Cancers can still harness the powers of silver by incorporating it into thier decor or wearing it as jewelry. By doing so, they can enjoy its beauty while also tapping into its protective energies. The nurturing and compassionate color of Cancer is silver. Silver encompasses intuition, empathy, and imagination. When meditating with silver, visualize yourself surrounded by love and light.

Other common colors for Cancer include white, pale blue, gray, or cream. As you choose which colors are appropriate for your wardrobe and your interior design, remember to keep the “moon” theme in mind.

Although white typically represents innocence and purity, it can also stand for clinical detachment or distant or ’empty’ energy. Overall, however, the message conveys hope, optimism, and a striving towards a better future.

  • Element: Fire
  • Energy: Masculine
  • Quality: Fixed
  • Planet: The Sun
  • Colors: Gold, yellow, orange, purple, red

Leos are one of the most lovable and outgoing signs of the zodiac. Ruled by the sun, these lions are incredibly warm and friendly, always looking to inject some fun into any situation. Orange and gold are the perfect colors for Leos, as they help them channel their inner confidence and show off their generous nature.

If you're ever feeling down, a Leo is always the perfect person to turn to. They'll always be there to make you laugh and help you see the bright side of life. When meditating with gold, visualize a golden lion – the king or queen of the jungle – representing your own personal power.

Other colors associated with the Leo sign may not be as intuitive as you might think. Burnt orange has many of the same connotations as purple – the reckless energy, the strength and courage, the zest for life – but purple is a bit unexpected.

In general, purple is associated with nobility, which is one of the reasons Leos are linked to royal purple. Many ancient cultures associated deep purple with the richest and most influential people, just as gold is often a symbol of wealth and influence.

  • Element: Earth
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Mutable
  • Planet: Mercury
  • Colors: Green, brown, muted yellow, orange and red

Brown reflects Virgo’s practical and grounded approach to life. This analytical and data-driven sign prides itself on its ability to act independently, and the color brown aids in fulfilling that goal. Virgos can use brown as a symbol of personal growth, helping them work through even the toughest of problems, obstacles, and challenges.

Brown is an earthy color that evokes feelings of stability and security. It represents our connection to the physical world and can help Virgos feel anchored and grounded. In times of difficulty, brown can provide a sense of calm and reassurance. When used as a Zodiac color, brown can help Virgos tap into their personal strength and resilience. When meditating with brown, visualize a calm oasis where everything is in its rightful place – this is your mind at its best!

Virgo’s other colors are mainly based on sticking with the same color family. Therefore, the other popular power colors here are various earth tones such as browns, muted yellows, and other richer hues.

Most earth tones have a similar sense of grounded practicality and life potential in the rich browns, yellows, oranges and reds.

  • Element: Air
  • Energy: Masculine
  • Quality: Cardinal
  • Planet: Venus
  • Colors: Blue, pastel pink, pistachio green, lavender, peach orange

Zodiac colors are said to represent the attributes and qualities of the signs they are assigned to. For example, Libra is often associated with the color pink. Libra is an air sign, and as such, is often seen as being gentle, delicate, and charming. Libras enjoy beauty and symmetry, and pink is said to help them tip the scales in their favor.

Pink is also associated with Venus, the planet of love. As a result, Libras can use pink as a way to strengthen relationships, promote self-love and compassion, and even enhance their diplomatic skills to solve conflict in the lives of others. When meditating with pink , close your eyes, breathe slowly, count evenly, and create mental peace.

Libra is technically associated with a lighter color because its power color skews towards the lighter end of the color spectrum. Therefore, the other colors associated with this sign are also lighter in nature. Generally, you’ll want to choose cool pastel colors.

Libra’s other power colors are pastel pink, pistachio green, lavender, and peach orange. Each of these colors has a distinct difference from its brighter relatives because the “normal” colors are more aggressive.

  • Element: Earth
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Fixed
  • Planet: Venus
  • Colors: Pink, pastel blue and purple

Zodiac colors represent the energy and personality of each sign. For example, Taurus is an Earth sign, and so the color green is said to reflect Taurus’ down-to-Earth and practical side. Likewise, green is also the color of money, wealth, and financial security—fitting for this luxury-loving bull sign that has an affinity for being pampered and enjoying the finer things in life.

Green helps Taureans channel their innate prosperity and natural gift for creating and attracting abundance. So if you’re ever feeling low on luck or vibes of prosperity, consider reaching for some green clothing or decor to help turn things around.

In spite of the fact that Taurus predates Greek mythology as a zodiac sign, it is often associated with goddesses like Venus or Aphrodite because of its connection with Venus. Aphrodite was the goddess of love, which is why the color associated with her domain was arguably one of the most romantic colors ever: pink!

Pink is often associated with female love, as well as with innocence, childlike wonder, and first crushes. Known for her love of pink, Audrey Hepburn once said she “believed in pink” as a way of encouraging her audience to embrace the lighter and frivolous aspects of life.

  • Element: Water
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Fixed
  • Planet: Pluto
  • Colors: Black, blood red, crimson, maroon, deep purple, navy blue

If you were born between October 23 and November 21, your zodiac is black. Scorpios are known for their powerful, passionate, and intense personalities. And what could be more fitting than the color black to represent this water sign?

Black is often associated with mystery, which Scorpios love. It's also a very grounding color, helping this sign to feel secure and safe. After all, Scorpios are ruled by the planet Pluto, which is known for its shadowy and secretive nature. So if you're looking for a color that embodies all of the qualities of a Scorpio, look no further than black!

Scorpio has many other colors associated with it that are also darkly dramatic and effortlessly intriguing in keeping with its power color themes. For a warmer color scheme, choose blood reds, crimsons, and maroons to capture the high-class sophistication that sometimes accompanies Scorpios.

When it comes to fashion and interior design, black is still a very popular shade, but it doesn’t have to be so dark. Choose deep, rich purples or navy blues.

  • Element: Fire
  • Energy: Masculine
  • Quality: Mutable
  • Planet: Jupiter
  • Colors: Purple, dark blue, plum

Engaging and inspiring, this wanderlust-driven fire sign is known for its freedom-seeking and independent nature, and purple only enhances it. A symbol of elegance, royalty, and scholarship, purple helps Sagittarius tap into their creative energy, allowing their most brilliant ideas to shine! It drives them to venture into a journey of self-discovery and continuously seek new horizons.

The power colors of Sagittarius, in fact, fall into the same general color scheme. If you’re looking for an alternative to true royal purple, consider dark blue or plum.

Several of Sagittarius’s power colors have a visual impact, as with Scorpio’s power colors. Sagittarius has long been associated with mysticism and magic in all of its forms, and the dark blues, reds, and purples of its power colors are meant to conjure that past.

  • Element: Earth
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Cardinal
  • Planet: Saturn
  • Colors: Brown, black, white, gray

As the zodiac color for Capricorn, grey represents many of this zodiac's qualities. Grey enhances Capricorn's logic and helps them to see both sides of every issue. It is a stable and grounding color that bolsters Capricorn's determination. Some may say it's a boring color, but sometimes it's the boring, nitty-gritty tasks that get us to where we want and that's exactly the energy that grey brings into a Capricorn's life.

Grey is an epitome of responsibility and hard work - two qualities that are very important to Capricorns. So next time you see a grey sky, think of all the things this hard-working zodiac can accomplish!

Capricorn is associated with the bones, the teeth, and the skin. So, the other power colors of Capricorn are related to the sense of cold, sharp determination, and steadfastness.

Grey is a symbol of professionalism and stability. And black can represent luxury, intrigue, and sophistication. Besides black and gray, Capricorns may also naturally gravitate towards dark browns rather than what you might expect when you think of “brown”.

  • Element: Air
  • Energy: Masculine
  • Quality: Fixed
  • Planet: Uranus
  • Colors: Blue, turquoise, aquamarine, white, bright gold

Aquarius is one of the zodiac's most rebellious signs, both in terms of actions and thoughts. The sign's power color is navy blue or light blue, which allows Aquarius to tap into its imaginative and free-spirited side with light blue and navy blue ease.

Whenever they feel like their innovative side is being stifled, Aquarians can use blue to help release creativity and new ideas. This eccentric light blue or navy blue sign thrives on individuality and uniqueness, so light blue helps them march to the beat of their own drum.

Due to Aquarius’s characteristic of air and not water, you may want to steer clear of the zodiac color palette that appears too oceanic. In this regard, greens and blacks with deeper shades may feel a little bit depressing or overly dramatic.

Instead, you may find yourself drawn to more “airy” colors. Look for pale yellow or gold tones that reflect the movement of the celestial bodies in the sky. Another popular choice for Aquariuses is white, which reflects the bright energy of the open air and the blinding warmth of the sun above. Colors that are warm, energetic, and capable of changing completely at a moment’s notice are ideal.

  • Element: Water
  • Energy: Feminine
  • Quality: Mutable
  • Planet: Neptune
  • Colors: Green, indigo, blue-gray, green-gray

For Pisces, aquamarine is said to represent the fish's intuitive and imaginative nature. The gemstone is said to help Pisces tap into their emotions and connect with their dreams. For Pisces, light green is especially important when they need the courage to pursue their heart's desires. Wearing aquamarine can help Pisces stay connected to their intuition and imagination, giving them the strength to follow their dreams.

Because of Pisces’ strong affinity for the sea, most of the colors it favors will fall within the same general category. While Scorpio seeks drama and Sagittarius mysticism, Pisces seeks empathy, harmony, and the power of the sea.

Find shades of blue and green zodiac colors that remind you of the ocean. Almost all shades of blue and dark blue-green fall into your power color wheel, so never be afraid to choose the ones that you find more comfortable.
